They buy them in the same places as any other photographers buy them. In shops.

They cost anything from a few hundred to thousands of pounds/dollars depending on the make and model.

They can get anything from a couple of pounds/dollars per picture to many thousands if they get "the" picture.

The offered rate for a princess DI shot topless on holiday was a couple of million.

ebay and places like that, cameras and lens, think about $20-50,000 usd – you can use lesser models until you sell your first britney image

recently Tiger Woods and any woman in a photo would have netted you 1million us dollars

a shot of michael jackson or elvis would sell for billions

most celeb images go for $5-15,000 USD
