What type of pictures/photos are the most popular for the household and why?

Celebrity pictures are obviously popular and sell well. Also, many people have pictures of themselves. But what other type of picture do people really want on their walls at home and why?
Besides family and friends, the best sellers are pictures the people can relate to, be it sports of any kind, nature, scenery, places and things. One reason why I shoot "everything and everything"..
It’s amazing the number of Southwest Desert picture sell to people living out here, as well as tourist. But then again many like having nature shots of their environment around them.
There is no one type or category over another that are best sellers, so when your out, look for contrast, color, composition, angles, etc.. Don’t forget black n white either.. The more good but unusual shots you can find the better your chances are. Southwest Sunsets with Saguaro Cacti are also hot topics out here.
Go, take lots of pics.. Many may be sellers if shown..

No offense, but only my drunk college boyfriend put pictures of celebrities on his fraternity dorm walls… I guess they do sell, but not for a "household" I would imagine.
I have a friend who is a photographer who can obviously take whatever pictures she wants and she composition-walls, as I call it. Meaning, she has pictures of her family that well a story that are hanging in an artistic format in the same frame (usually plain black frames). Another wall has all black and white of a vacation they take yearly. But that’s not what you are asking for really… I think.
I know some people who put pictures of flowers and nature scenes on their walls. I personally prefer paintings (real ones, not pictures), but those are much more expensive than photos.
It also depends on the frame. Are you going to frame your photos into a nice frame or leave it up to the buyer to determine that. Another consideration, I think would be size. I would buy a huge photo of a large nature scene and I have a friend who loves flower close ups so she has one of those spread through out her whole wall…
