How to save my desktop wallpaper as a picture?

Posted on November 20th, 2009 by admin

Hi there, a friend of mine took a picture that I loved and he put his memory card into my computer and set it as my wallpaper. I would now like to save this picture so I can use it but I can’t find where my computer has saved it. Help!
Thank you Ryan, you were right!

The picture can be found at:

C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Wallpaper1.bmp

Right click your desktop, click properties, then the desktop tab. When you find the name of the picture, do a system search:
Start, My computer, and then the search tab. Click Pictures, Music or Video, then tick the Pictures and Photos box. Put in the name of what you found the picture was called and put it in the search box. Make sure you click the advanced search options box and put in the Look in: box "Local drives (C:,D:)" and then press search. Wait a couple of minutes and it should of found it.
